We have an excellent position for an, self-motivated and hands-on grounds and maintenance person to join a friendly and hardworking team.
Reporting to the estate manager, this person will be diligent, practical and down to earth and will assist with the upkeep and general care of the private estate, including historical buildings, grounds and surrounding properties.
This is a great opportunity to use a variety of skills to help maintain a beautiful and diverse estate.
Responsibilities include:
- Perform groundskeeping tasks including, mowing, strimming and use of a wood chipper to maintain upkeep of the estate
- General maintenance duties within the property and grounds, working to ensure the building and grounds are tidy and safe – experience of cleaning, painting and decorating
- Use of power tools and mechanical equipment for various grounds and maintenance tasks
- Ensure proper health and safety procedures and practises are followed
- Responsible for reporting any faulty appliances, damaged equipment or any potential hazards to the Facilities Supervisor as well as reporting any building issues within the property
- Running errands – deliveries and collections when needed
- Collaborate with team members to complete works efficiently
The ideal candidate:
- Strong practical skills and knowledge of grounds and property maintenance required
- Ability to use and maintain a large variety of gardening tools, maintenance tools and light/heavy machinery - holding valid tickets is advantageous
- Must hold a valid driving licence
- Excellent time keeping and can-do attitude
- Enthusiastic and positive in approach
- Keen to learn new skills
- Willingness to travel
The successful applicant will be able to work as part of a small team as well as autonomously, under direction from the estate manager.
