Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Hotel Maintenance & Grounds Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge and experience in maintenance, ensuring that our grounds and facilities are well-maintained and operational. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, leadership skills, and a commitment to providing excellent customer service.
Job Type: Full-time, 40 hours per week
Salary: £28,500 - £30,000 per annum depending on experience
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out general maintenance and repairs across the hotel, including plumbing, painting, decorating and carpentry.
- Perform basic grounds work such as tidying outdoor areas, maintaining paths and patios, minor gardening, litter collection, and general upkeep of the hotel’s exterior.
- Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and facilities to identify maintenance needs.
- Support in setting up and maintaining hotel equipment, fixtures, and fittings.
- Respond to maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner.
- Work safely and in compliance with health and safety regulations as well as updating any relevent documents/folders.
- Liaise with contractors and suppliers when necessary.
- Assist with seasonal or project-based work such as refurbishments, redecorations, or installations.
Skills & Experience:
- Previous experience in a maintenance or handyman role, ideally within a hotel or similar environment.
- Practical knowledge of basic plumbing, joinery, decorating, electrical work, and basic grounds maintenance.
- Strong attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Good communication skills and a positive, can-do attitude.
- Flexibility to work occasional weekends or evenings when required.
