Key Responsibilities:
- Role model the company values and behaviours at all times: Hospitality, Passion, Trustworthiness, Excellence, Stewardship, Kindness
- Oversee the maintenance and presentation of all outdoor areas, including lawns, gardens, pathways, recreational spaces, and parking areas
- Plan and implement landscaping projects to enhance the park's aesthetic appeal
- Manage the upkeep of trees, shrubs, flowerbeds, and green spaces, ensuring they are healthy and vibrant
- Conduct regular inspections of the grounds to identify and address potential hazards
- Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations, including the use of tools, machinery, and chemicals
- Maintain records of inspections, maintenance activities, and compliance checks
- Recruit, train, and supervise groundskeeping team, ensuring high performance and teamwork
- Develop work schedules and allocate tasks to team members efficiently
- Provide ongoing training on equipment use, safety procedures, and environmental best practices
- Monitor and respond to weather-related challenges to ensure the safety and usability of outdoor spaces
- Work closely with other departments to align grounds maintenance with events, activities, and operational needs
- Interact with guests to address concerns or feedback regarding the park’s outdoor area
- Ensure signage, lighting, and access paths are clear and welcoming for visitors
Experience/Skills Required:
- Proven experience in grounds maintenance, landscaping, or a similar role
- Previous leadership experience managing teams and large outdoor areas
- Strong knowledge of grounds maintenance techniques, tools, and machinery
- Understanding of horticulture, irrigation systems, and landscaping design principles
- Proficiency in budgeting, resource planning, and time management
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations related to outdoor work
