Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled and experienced 'hands on' Ops & Maintenance (Groundworks) Supervisor involved in the construction of large scale solar farms.
You must be experienced and confident to lead a team using a ‘can do’ approach, whilst also prepared to set the standard by getting ‘hands on’ when required.
The work involves delivering quality work on large scale solar farms and includes undertaking the following:
- Grass & hedge cutting
- Weed Control
- Wildflower and grassland seeding
- Solar module cleaning
- Hedge, tree and woodland care
- Site Preparation: drainage, seeding, hedges
- Post-build reinstatement
- Landscaping
The work involves travel across the UK and a dynamic, ‘can do’ approach is essential. You must be able and willing to stay away for up to 4 days at a time on a regular basis.
We are successful in the solar farm construction work we do because we work swiftly and efficiently to tight timescales which our clients expect. We also have to be flexible and change to the needs of the project.
If you are used to the traditional construction industry and finishing at midday on a Friday then this role probably isn’t for you. Qualifications & Experience
- SSSTS qualification is advantageous but if you don’t have this we can help you to achieve it.
- Proven experience in a supervisory role within the civil engineering or construction industry.
- Familiarity with electrical systems is advantageous but not essential.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure while managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong communication skills to liaise with team members, clients, and stakeholders effectively.
