Vacancy Announcement
Role: SIS Grass Machine Operator
As our project workload continues to grow, we’re looking for more subcontractors to work as Machine Operators and join our installation teams both in the UK and overseas. If you’re mechanically minded, enjoy working outdoors, and want to be part of a company delivering specialist projects worldwide, we’d love to hear from you.
This is a hands-on role where you’ll be working with our SISGrass hybrid installation machinery to help deliver high-quality sports surfaces for a variety of clients. A strong focus on safety, accuracy, and teamwork is essential.
The peak season typically runs from April to September, though this can vary depending on project schedules. We are looking to build a pool of crew members we can call upon as work picks up, and we aim to offer training ahead of the busy period so you’re fully prepared when projects start.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and assist with the operation of SISGrass hybrid installation machinery to achieve precise, high-quality results. Full training on all equipment will be provided.
- Carry out installation work in line with client requirements and company standards.
- Monitor machinery performance and identify any minor mechanical or operational issues, resolving them promptly to minimise downtime.
- Maintain accurate records of work completed on each project.
- Work effectively as part of a team on-site, supporting colleagues to ensure installations run smoothly and efficiently.
Requirements
We are looking for practical, hands-on individuals to join our team as subcontractor Machine Operators. There are no formal qualifications required, but candidates must meet the following:
- Experience: Previous experience working with machinery, turf, or mechanical equipment is highly desirable. On-site training will be provided, but practical knowledge is a significant advantage.
- Availability: Must be available to work as a subcontractor during our peak season (typically April to September), including the ability to work long stretches away from home. Flexibility is essential, as project schedules can vary.
- Work Ethic: Hardworking, reliable, and committed to delivering a high standard of work.
- Practical Skills: Mechanically minded, with the ability to monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot machinery on site.
- Teamwork & Communication: Able to work effectively as part of a team and follow instructions accurately.
- Mobility: Must be willing to travel and be away from home for extended periods. Willingness to work day and night shifts is important. Accommodation, travel, and a daily meal allowance will be provided.
- Eligibility: Must have the legal right and ability to work in the UK, EU (or both), and further afield when required.
Why This Role:
Subcontractors who demonstrate skill, reliability, and a willingness to work extended periods often return year after year, with the opportunity to take on work for the full summer season. Competitive rates reflect the commitment required, and you will be part of a globally recognised company delivering specialist sports surface projects.
Benefits
While this is a subcontractor role, we offer a range of advantages to make the work rewarding and enjoyable:
- Competitive subcontractor rates reflecting the skills and commitment required.
- Accommodation, travel, and daily meal allowance provided when working away from home.
- Flexible, project-based work during our busy season (April–September), with the potential for repeat work year after year.
- Opportunity to travel and see new places, working on projects across the UK and internationally.
- Hands-on experience operating specialist SISGrass machinery on high-profile sports surface projects.
- Join a growing, internationally recognised company and work alongside a skilled and supportive team.
