Experienced Grounds Maintenance Operative
Location: [Your location / sites across Berkshire & surrounding areas]
Hours: Approx. 8:00am – 4:00pm (with occasional later finishes during peak summer months)
Contract: Full-time, permanent
We are seeking an experienced, dependable Grounds Maintenance Operative to play a key hands-on role within our grounds maintenance team.
This position is suited to someone who is fully confident carrying out grounds maintenance to a high standard, takes ownership of their work, and sets a strong example on site. You will be working across a range of commercial and large residential locations, maintaining consistently high presentation and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Delivering high-quality grounds maintenance including grass cutting, strimming, hedge cutting and general site upkeep
- Taking responsibility for the standard of work completed on site
- Working efficiently to schedules while maintaining attention to detail
- Using tools, machinery, and equipment safely and competently
- Supporting team members and contributing positively to the working environment
What We’re Looking For
- Proven, hands-on experience in grounds maintenance
- Full UK driving licence (essential)
- Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship
- Reliable, punctual, and professional in approach
- Able to work well within a team and support less experienced staff
- Genuine interest in grounds maintenance and outdoor work
Hours & Flexibility
- Standard working hours are approximately 8:00am – 4:00pm
- Occasional later finishes during the summer months
- Saturday work available during the growing season (optional)
