Looking for new staff to be based predominantly at our site in SW15.
We also have a yard based in Kent, TN8 post code.
Areas where some of our other sites are include; Crawley, Sutton, Epsom, Surrey.
The ideal candidate for a Grounds Maintenance worker will have:
Previous experience in grounds maintenance, gardening or landscaping - industry experience and a willingness to learn
An interest in horticulture
Pride in your work, team spirit and punctuality will mean you fit into the team well
Polite and positive whilst engaging with our customers
Be highly motivated and able to work to a high standard of both safety and quality
Have the ability to work in all weathers in an outdoor environment
Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting heavy objects and operating machinery
Basic mechanical knowledge for equipment maintenance and repairs is a plus
Experience in using a range of equipment and petrol power tools would be beneficial
A full UK manual driving licence helpful (but you will form part of a team so not essential)
Lantra / NPTC, PA1, PA6 (preferred qualifications, but not essential)
Carry out all operations in accordance with current health and safety requirements
Some of the duties involved as one of our Operatives (Grounds Maintenance):
Carrying out grass cutting and strimming
Carrying out shrub bed maintenance, including leaf removal, weeding and pruning with either hand tools or machines
Hedge cutting and maintenance
Removing leaves from both hard and soft landscape areas
Removing litter from hard and soft landscape areas
Carrying out weed control, keeping grounds in a generally weed free condition using herbicides
Maintain cleanliness of outdoor areas
Delivering a high quality of workmanship covering all aspects of Grounds Maintenance on our sites.
An enhanced DBS will be required/ carried out and you may be expected to work in school grounds as part of your role.
As growth happens, spring & summer often require slightly longer hours but in winter and after leaf fall, when growth slows the demand isn’t so high allowing our team to relax a little.

Working days; Monday - Friday.
Salary negotiable depending on job experience and a driving licence - Salary between £26,000 - £29,000 (top end will be team leader role)
Potentially looking to hire more than one candidate.
Uniform will be provided and your main site will be in the SW15 post code.
