An exciting opportunity for full-time Estate Workers to join our expanding team on privately owned rural estates near Cleobury Mortimer in South Shropshire. The house, gardens and wider estate are undergoing major restoration and redevelopment.
Position Summary
We are looking to recruit motivated Estate Workers to work with the Estate Team to maintain and improve the estate grounds. This varied role will suit proactive and practical individuals. Experience of working on a large and diverse estate or within a rural business such as forestry or agriculture will be an advantage, but is not essential.
The Estate Team are responsible for the maintenance of new and established estate infrastructure, woodlands, tracks, and working closely with the gardens, equestrian, property and farming teams to ensure all areas are well maintained.
Key responsibilities for Estate Worker
All those duties normally associated with the role of Estate Worker, to include but not limited to:
- All estate maintenance works to include fences, boundaries, forestry work and woodland/plantation maintenance, drainage and groundworks, mowing and topping of fields, track clearance and maintenance.
- Woodland and paddock maintenance, to include use of chainsaw, flail mower, hedge cutter etc.
- Tractor and trailer driving.
- Basic maintenance, cleaning and servicing of estate vehicles, machinery and tools.
Skills and Experience
- Proven experience of working on a rural estate or within a rural business such as forestry or agriculture.
- Strong knowledge and experience of machinery including tractor and trailer driving.
- Experience of forestry work with basic chainsaw maintenance and crosscutting qualifications desirable.
- Knowledge of pesticides application with PA1 and PA6 qualifications desirable.
- A practical, hands-on attitude.
- Well organised with attention to detail and a keenness to provide the highest standards.
- Have a flexible approach, the ability to multitask and work well under pressure.
- Capable to take responsibility and work on own initiative, alone or with small teams.
- Capacity to communicate clearly in both written and oral forms.
- Full UK driving licence essential.
Hours of Work
40 hours per week 8am-4:30pm Mon-Fri. Occasional out of hours duties may be required with time off in lieu.
