Position: Grounds Maintenance Operative
Location: Hertford
Salary: £13 – £14 per hour (depending on experience)
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday, 7:30am – 4:00pm

Chappell Enterprises UK is recruiting on behalf of our client, a well-established grounds maintenance contractor, seeking dedicated Grounds Maintenance Operatives to join their team based in Hertford.
About Our Client:
Our client is a reputable grounds maintenance contractor known for delivering high-quality services across multiple sites. They are committed to maintaining beautiful and safe outdoor environments and are looking for skilled operatives to support their growing team.
About the Role:
As a Grounds Maintenance Operative, you will be an integral part of a grass cutting and maintenance team, working on a variety of contracts including highways work. Your day-to-day tasks will involve strimming, grass cutting, hedge cutting, litter picking, and assisting with general grounds maintenance. You will also support wider teams across multiple sites, ensuring all areas are maintained to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities:
• Strimming and grass cutting
• Hedge cutting
• Litter picking
• Assisting with general grounds maintenance tasks
• Supporting wider teams across multiple sites
• Additional skills such as chainsaw work would be beneficial but are not essential
Requirements:
Essential:
• Lantra or City & Guilds certificates for Hedgecutter, Brushcutter/Strimmer, or Mowers
• Ability to drive a 3.5 tonne tipper van
• Proven grounds maintenance experience
Desirable:
• CSCS Card
• Chainsaw certification
