We're the only Museum of the Home in the world - revealing home as an emotional, psychological, socio-political and economic space - as well as the bricks and mortar and outdoor garden spaces. Our Gardens and Grounds are a unique and much-loved space that are a place to relax, picnic, and enjoy green space in the heart of the crowded city. Our Gardens are currently undergoing an exciting strategic evolution with a strong focus on enhancing biodiversity, strengthening our sustainable practices, and increasing community involvement.We're looking for someone with a passion for sustainable gardening in a public space, an appreciation for biodiversity, and who enjoys engaging with visitors. An ability to think creatively while also bringing practical delivery skills to our garden and outdoor spaces will be key attributes. The role involves working with the Head Gardener in delivering:The horticultural and day to day operations and activities across all gardens and groundsDevelopment and maintenance of garden and turf areasEnhancing the value of our green spaces in the urban settingAssisting the Head Gardener with tours/workshops/events with our visitorsIt's an opportunity to support a small, committed team and to continue telling our story through the gardens and outdoor spaces while contributing to the creation of a unique contemporary garden space.The role is subject to a satisfactory DBS check.Closing date for applications is Monday 6 April at 5pm.
