Salary: £30,000 – £35,000 per year depending on experience
Hours: 40 hours per week

Chappell Enterprises UK is recruiting on behalf of our client, a specialist sports turf and grounds maintenance contractor, renowned for delivering high-quality playing surfaces across the south of England. They are seeking a skilled Grounds Person to maintain a premier cricket site near Basingstoke / Chandlers Ford.

About the Role:
As a Grounds Person, you will be responsible for the preparation and maintenance of five cricket squares and associated outfields. This hands-on role demands a deep understanding of cricket pitch preparation and maintenance, ensuring the playing surfaces are always presented to the highest standard throughout the cricket season.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare and maintain cricket pitches.
• Manage five cricket squares and outfields.
• Perform rolling, mowing, marking, and match preparation.
• Conduct end-of-season renovations and seasonal turf maintenance.
• Monitor pitch performance and adjust maintenance practices.
• Support matchday preparation and post-fixture repairs.
Requirements:
Essential:
• Proven experience preparing and maintaining cricket pitches.
• Strong understanding of cricket pitch preparation and maintenance techniques.
• Experience working on cricket squares and natural turf wickets.
• Passion for sports turf and cricket groundsmanship.
• Full UK driving licence.
Desirable:
• Experience working at private schools, cricket clubs, or similar venues.
