Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Assistant Gardener to support our horticultural team in maintaining and enhancing a variety of outdoor landscapes. This role involves assisting with planting, pruning, and general landscape maintenance tasks to ensure the health and aesthetic appeal of our gardens. Responsibilities
- Assist with planting, pruning, watering, and fertilising plants and shrubs
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and irrigation systems safely and effectively
- Support with lawn mowing, edging, and general landscape maintenance tasks
- Help in the installation and upkeep of garden features and structures
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas and ensure health and safety standards are adhered to
- Assist with plant propagation and growing activities as required
- Support team members in ongoing horticultural projects to promote healthy growth and landscape aesthetics
Requirements
- Previous experience in gardening, horticulture, or landscape maintenance is preferred but not essential; a keen interest in gardening is necessary
- Practical knowledge of using hand tools, power tools, and irrigation systems
- Growing experience or familiarity with plant care techniques is advantageous
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
- Good physical fitness to undertake outdoor work in varying weather conditions
- A genuine passion for gardening, horticulture, and landscape aesthetics
