Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Gardener / Greenkeeper to join our Greenkeeping team at Royal Lytham & St Annes Golf Club, one of the world’s leading championship links venues. The role offers an excellent opportunity to work within a prestigious golfing environment, maintaining and enhancing the gardens around the Clubhouse while supporting the preparation and presentation of the Championship Course, short course and practice facilities.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for horticulture, a keen eye for detail, and a desire to develop their skills within a high-performance greenkeeping team.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and enhance all garden areas surrounding the Clubhouse to a consistently high standard
- Carry out planting, pruning, watering, feeding and seasonal maintenance of landscaped areas
- Utilise hand tools, power tools and horticultural equipment safely and effectively
- Assist with the preparation and maintenance of the Championship Course, short course and practice facilities
- Support general course maintenance tasks, including course set-up and presentation
- Monitor plant health, including identifying and treating pests and diseases
- Ensure all areas are clean, tidy and presented to the highest standards at all times
- Follow health and safety guidelines and Club procedures
- Work collaboratively with the Greenkeeping team to deliver world-class standards
Experience
- Previous experience in gardening, horticulture or a related field is preferred
- Knowledge of plants, shrubs, trees and seasonal planting is advantageous
- Experience using hand tools and horticultural equipment is desirable
- An interest in greenkeeping or sports turf management is beneficial
- A genuine enthusiasm for outdoor work and high presentation standards is essential
- Ability to carry out the physical requirements of the role, which includes working outdoors and in varying weather conditions
