Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Dopot Manager specialising in Grounds Maintenance to oversee and coordinate all landscaping and outdoor maintenance activities. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the aesthetic appeal, safety, and functionality of the grounds through expert management of horticultural and construction-related tasks. This role offers an opportunity to lead a team in maintaining diverse outdoor environments, utilising a range of mechanical and manual tools. The ideal applicant will possess strong organisational skills, technical knowledge, and a passion for outdoor maintenance. Previous management experience essential.
Duties
- Plan, organise, and supervise grounds maintenance activities across various sites to ensure high standards of appearance and safety.
- Oversee landscape maintenance tasks such as planting, pruning, mowing, fertilising, and pest control.
- Operate and maintain mechanical equipment including excavators, irrigation systems, and power tools to carry out construction or repair projects.
- Conduct routine inspections of grounds to identify issues requiring attention or repair.
- Manage inventory of hand tools, gardening supplies, and maintenance equipment to ensure operational readiness.
- Implement health and safety procedures in accordance with regulatory standards during all grounds activities.
- Provide guidance and training to team members on proper use of tools and maintenance techniques.
- Manage work schedules, ensuring resources and routes are planned efficiently across client sites.
- Conduct regular team briefings to communicate targets, safety information, and upcoming projects.
- Coordinate the maintenance and servicing of machinery and vehicles, ensuring compliance and reliability.
- Conduct regular client meetings and site audits, providing reports and updates on progress.
- Identify and price additional works and variations, producing accurate quotations and following up on approvals.
- Schedule and oversee the delivery of these extra works to maximise efficiency and profitability
Requirements
- Proven managemexperience in landscape maintenance, gardening, horticulture or related fields.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan and prioritise multiple projects effectively.
- Excellent communication skills
- Full UK driving licence

Your usual hours of work during the season (March to October) will be Monday to Friday 6.30am till 4.00pm (8.5 hours per day start and finish time may be adjusted), and Monday to Friday 8.00am till 4.00pm (7 hours) out of season.
