Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Gardener/Groundsperson to join our team and contribute to the maintenance and enhancement of our outdoor spaces in two locations; Mistley and Colchester. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about gardening, horticulture, and landscape maintenance. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the upkeep of gardens, lawns, and landscaped areas, patios and swimming pools, ensuring they remain healthy, attractive, and well-maintained. Experience with various gardening tools and techniques is highly desirable, along with a keen eye for detail and a proactive approach to outdoor work.
Duties
- Utilise hand tools such as secateurs, spades, and rakes to prune, trim, and maintain plants and shrubs
- Operate power tools including lawnmowers, hedge trimmers, and leaf blowers to manage large areas efficiently
- Conduct landscape maintenance tasks such as mowing lawns, edging borders, and weed control
- Support seasonal planting programmes by preparing soil beds and planting new vegetation
- Monitor plant health and identify signs of pests or diseases for appropriate action
- Maintain equipment cleanliness and safety standards in accordance with company policies
Experience
- Prior experience in gardening or landscape maintenance is strongly preferred
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools used in horticulture
- Growing experience or knowledge of horticulture principles is advantageous
- Demonstrated interest in gardening or horticultural activities with a passion for outdoor work
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in outdoor environments under varying weather conditions
- Knowledge of swimming pool maintenance advantageous

Pay: £12.50-£14.00 per hour
