Contract to start ASAP until 01-10-26 with a possible extension.
Responsibilities:
- To carry out site surveys, identify landscape features and record data on the Easytreev and other Council systems in support of the grounds maintenance contract
- Update and write new sections of specification for the grounds maintenance contract to capture the service's needs
- To assist with producing specifications for parks projects and other contract documentation and assist with tendering works in accordance with the Council's procurement policy
- To carry out infrastructure inspections on parks, open spaces and buildings including risk assessments, and to be responsible for assessing any required repairs, obtain quotes, and issue orders based on health and safety, and to ensure works are carried out monitoring and controlling expenditure to ensure services for which the post holder is responsible, are provided within approved estimates
- To manage and supervise contractors whilst carrying out works for projects and responsive repairs, ensuring compliance with Health & Safety regulations, risk assessments and budgetary requirements
- To be responsible for developing and keeping Parks Service information held on the Council's website up to date and informative including arranging for updated information to be uploaded
- To deal efficiently and effectively with enquiries requests and complaints from the public, councillors, statutory bodies and colleagues, taking appropriate and timely action to address concerns and provide information and advice, including liaising with members of the public and other interested parties including the bowls clubs
- To contribute to the management of projects and work streams within agreed projects, according to the Terms of Reference signed off by relevant Project Boards
- Develop and maintain plans and timetables for implementation of the projects' work streams, under the oversight of a more senior member of staff
- Prepare, maintain and publish project documents (action log, project plan, highlight reports etc), under the oversight of a more senior member of staff
- To perform any other duties that may be required commensurate with the salary and grade
