Chappell Enterprises UK is recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Team Leader Arborist to join their expanding business based in Horsham.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established contractor delivering Arboriculture, Grounds Maintenance and Landscaping services across the South East. You'll lead by example, work alongside an experienced team and play an important role in maintaining the company's reputation for quality and professionalism.

About the Role As Team Leader Arborist, you will be responsible for leading a small team undertaking a wide range of arboricultural operations while ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and to the highest standards.
Although arboricultural work will form the core of the role, there will also be opportunities to support landscaping and grounds maintenance projects where required, offering a varied and rewarding workload.
This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone who enjoys working outdoors, motivating others and maintaining exceptional standards on every project.
Key Responsibilities • Lead and supervise a small arboricultural team on site.
• Carry out climbing, dismantling, sectional felling, pruning and crown management works.
• Undertake tree inspections and assess work requirements.
• Ensure all work complies with current health and safety legislation and industry best practice.
• Complete site-specific risk assessments and daily briefings.
• Operate and maintain chainsaws, chippers, stump grinders and associated equipment.
• Ensure vehicles, machinery and equipment are maintained and presented to a high standard.
• Support Grounds Maintenance and Landscaping operations when required.
• Mentor junior members of the team and promote safe working practices.
• Communicate professionally with clients, colleagues and management.
Skills and Experience Essential • Proven experience working as a climbing Arborist.
• Previous experience leading or supervising a small team.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• CS30.
• CS31.
• CS38.
• CS39.
• CS41.
• Strong understanding of current arboricultural health and safety legislation.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Professional, reliable and positive attitude.
Desirable • MEWP (IPAF) qualification.
• Woodchipper and Stump Grinder qualifications.
• First Aid at Work + Forestry.
• Trailer licence (B+E).
• Experience working across commercial, local authority or utility contracts.
• Grounds Maintenance or Landscaping experience.
