Mō te tūranga | About the role
We’re looking for three reliable, hands-on people to join our Open Space Management team as Groundspersons.
In this role, you’ll help keep our landscapes looking sharp through basic horticultural maintenance, annual planting, and spray maintenance. You’ll use a mix of hand tools and small power tools, and no two days will look exactly the same. It’s a minimum 40-hour week, with some flexibility needed for occasional night shift work and after-hours call-outs.

- Carry out basic horticultural and landscape maintenance
- Complete annual planting and spray maintenance activities
- Safely use hand tools and small power tools
- Support after-hours call-outs and occasional night shift work when required
- Work safely around live traffic and help maintain high standards across the network
Kei te kimi mātou i tētahi e whai ana i ēnei pūkenga | We’re looking for someone with
- A full Class 1 licence, with Class 2 preferred
- Basic horticultural skills, with Growsafe certification preferred
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- A reliable, proactive and team-focused approach, with strong attention to detail
- Confidence carrying out the inherent requirements of the role, including outdoor work around traffic and physical tasks
