Our client, a prestigious racquet sports club, is seeking an ambitious Assistant Grounds Person to join their dedicated Grounds Team.

With extensive facilities including natural grass tennis courts, synthetic clay courts, indoor tennis, padel, squash, and fitness facilities, the club is committed to providing world-class amenities for its members and hosting prestigious national and international competitions.
About the Role:
As an Assistant Grounds Person, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and preparing championship-quality grass tennis courts and other playing areas. You will work closely with the Grounds Team, gaining valuable experience in sports turf management, estate presentation, and horticulture. This role offers genuine long-term career progression as the club continues to invest in its facilities and estate.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist in the preparation and maintenance of championship-quality grass tennis courts.
• Maintain synthetic clay courts and surrounding playing areas to an exceptional standard.
• Carry out mowing, line marking, court preparation, and seasonal renovations.
• Assist with irrigation, fertiliser, and turf management programmes.
• Maintain landscaped gardens, planting schemes, and the wider club estate.
• Operate and maintain specialist grounds machinery safely and effectively.
• Ensure the club presents to the highest possible standard every day of the year.
• Support the delivery of major tournaments and high-profile club events.
Skills and Experience:
Essential:
• Proven experience in grounds maintenance, greenkeeping, or sports turf management.
• A strong work ethic and positive attitude.
• The ability to work both independently and as part of a close-knit team.
• A desire to continually improve standards.
Desirable:
• Full UK driving licence.
