Are you looking for a practical, customer-focused role that allows you to work independently, stay active and spend your working day outdoors?
TopGrass is looking for a reliable and personable Lawn Customer Service and Maintenance Technician to deliver professional lawn treatments to domestic customers.
About the Role
You will manage your own daily service route, apply lawn care treatments safely and provide customers with practical advice on maintaining healthy lawns.
TopGrass has previously recruited successfully from delivery driving and other route-based roles. Previous lawn care experience is therefore beneficial but not essential, as full training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
• Applying lawn care treatments to domestic customers.
• Delivering excellent customer service at every visit.
• Providing basic lawn care advice and recommendations.
• Managing daily routes through a mobile route-management app.
• Communicating with customers and colleagues by phone, text and email.
• Maintaining accurate treatment and customer records.
• Working safely and in line with company procedures.
• Identifying opportunities for additional services where appropriate.
Training and Depot Arrangements
During your initial training period, you will work from the TopGrass depot in Marton.
Once fully trained, you will normally start your working day from home, with routes planned in advance. You will typically only need to attend the depot once a week.
Location and Travel
Some routes will be close to home, while others will involve longer journeys. Your schedule will be provided in advance so you know where you will be working each day.
As part of the role, you'll also be required to cover routes across our northern service area, including Nottingham and Derby. These routes are not fixed but are typically scheduled around twice per week, offering a varied working week.
What We’re Looking For
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Confidence working independently and managing your own workload.
• Good organisation, reliability and time management.
• Comfortable working outdoors throughout the year.
• Confidence using mobile apps and basic computer systems.
• GCSE English and Maths, or equivalent.
• A full UK Driving Licence.
• The physical fitness required for an active outdoor role.
Experience in lawn care, horticulture, grounds maintenance, field service or route-based delivery work would be advantageous.
PA1 and PA6 spraying qualifications are preferred but are not essential, as training can be provided.
Salary and Benefits
• £27,250–£29,250 per annum, depending on experience.
• Commission on additional work sold and completed.
• Paid training and ongoing career development.
• Company sick pay and paid overtime.
• Annual leave flexibility and holiday buy-back.
• Additional time off through the Christmas break scheme.
• Wellbeing and financial wellbeing support.
• Uniform and work devices provided.
• Free annual TopGrass lawn treatments and aeration.
• Team-building days, competitions and prizes.

Typical working hours are 07:30–16:00, including a 30-minute break. You will be expected to arrive at your first customer by 08:00.
During busier periods, particularly April and September, working hours may extend to approximately 07:30–17:00.
