About the Role

We are looking for someone who enjoys working outdoors and takes pride in delivering high‑quality grounds maintenance. You’ll work both independently and as part of a team to help care for Sheffield’s parks and green spaces, ensuring they are well maintained and inviting.

Key Responsibilities

Carrying out ground’s maintenance across a defined geographical area
Completing playground safety checks
Emptying litter bins and supporting general site cleanliness
Responding to unexpected situations using initiative and common sense
Recording and reporting incidents accurately

We’re looking for someone enthusiastic, safety‑conscious and with strong attention to detail.

Training will be provided, with opportunities to develop skills.

If you are appointed to this role, your starting salary will be at the bottom of the grade. If you provide payslip evidence that your basic pay is greater than the bottom of the grade, we will consider starting you at the point of minimum advantage within the grade.

Full-time employees work 37 hours for 52 weeks of the year and we offer a generous holiday entitlement. We are open to discussions about a wide range of flexible working opportunities which benefit you and the Council, including reduced hour contracts, working part time or as a job share.
