About
• Diverse Garden Features & Greenhouse Husbandry: I am routinely responsible for the upkeep and progressive design of large-scale herbaceous borders, specialized pruning (wisteria, roses, and fruit trees), and managing organic kitchen gardens. My background includes extensive glasshouse husbandry, propagation, and providing floral displays for main residential houses.Hands-on Leadership & Estate Operations: I am a proactive, hands-on manager who thrives when working closely within a team or driving estate operations forward independently. In my current estate management capacity, I oversee day-to-day garden maintenance while handling complex estate logistics, including irrigation systems, alarms, swimming pools, and coordinating external contractors.Qualifications & Machinery Expertise: I possess full training in the safe use and maintenance of a wide range of horticultural machinery. Crucially, I hold valid PA1 and PA6 Spraying Certificates, alongside CS30/CS31 Chainsaw Certificates and an IPAF Cherry Picker license. I also hold an NVQ Level 2 in Horticulture and am currently studying for my NVQ Level 3 Diploma.Work Ethic & Longevity: I pride myself on having a strong work ethos, excellent attention to detail, and a naturally creative approach to estate rejuvenation. I possess a full clean current driving licence, am fully accustomed to the flexible responsibilities required of rural estate positions—including weekend watering rotas—and I am actively looking for a dedicated, long-term live-in placement where I can truly invest my skills.Excellent written references are available upon request.
Thank you for your time and consideration. I look forward to discussing how my years of hands-on experience and estate management skills can help accentuate your property.
Yours sincerely,
Paul Shepherd
