KPS Contractors Ltd is looking to recruit a Grounds Maintenance Operative. Established over 40 year ago, KPS Contractors Ltd is a family-run business covering all aspects of Tree care, Fencing, Landscaping and Grounds maintenance across the south east of England. We work with both commercial and residential customers.
We are looking for a reliable and hardworking individual to join our business. The successful candidate must be able to always display professional and friendly attitude and be a team player. Previous supervisory experience is useful but not essential.
You must hold a full UK driving licence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare ground and installation of turf
- Perform grounds keeping maintenance duties
- Mow lawn either by hand or using a ride on lawnmower (once trained in house).
- Cut lawn using hand, power / petrol or ride-on mower and trim edgings around path area, flower beds, and walls
- Landscape by planting flowers, grass, shrubs, and bushes.
- Apply pesticide to rid grounds of pests such as mosquitos, wasps, ticks, and others. (once trained and certificated).
- Apply fertilizer to ground to enhance growth.
- Shovel snow from walkways and sprinkle salt down to keep people from falling.
- Sweep or blow pathways free of debris.
- Trim down tree / Bush limbs that are posing a danger or hazard.
- Trim shrubs and pull weeds.
- Perform minor repairs and maintenance procedures on equipment utilized in grounds maintenance (once trained).
- Responsible for the cultivation and care of the landscaping and grounds surrounding a business or building. Plants flowers, mows, pulls weeds, repairs structures, and maintains outside of building.
- Rake, mulch, and prune the grounds as needed.
- Water plants and grass as needed.
- Wearing PPE at all times whilst working and in the yard
Knowledge & Skills:
- Horticultural qualification preferred, but not essential
- Training on all relevant equipment /environmental issues
- CSCS Card desirable
