Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Gardener to join our team. Working under the management of an Head Gardener and working alongside other members of the estate and contractors. The Garden and Grounds consist of 60 Acres, with herbaceous borders, Woodland Garden, Orchard, Lake and Wildflower Meadow The ideal candidate will possess a passion for horticulture and landscape maintenance, with hands-on experience in gardening and growing various plants. This role is essential in maintaining the beauty and health of our gardens, ensuring that all areas are well-kept and flourishing.
Duties
- Utilise hand tools and power tools effectively for various gardening tasks
- Using and maintaining variety of garden machinery, including Ride-on Mowers and Compact Tractors.
- Conduct regular landscape maintenance, including mowing, trimming, and weeding
- Assist in planting, cultivating, and harvesting plants as required
- Monitor plant health and identify any pests or diseases, taking appropriate action
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment, ensuring tools and equipment are stored properly
- Collaborate with team members to design and implement garden layouts
Requirements
- Proven experience in gardening or horticulture is highly desirable
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, preferably with relevant qualifications eg; Chainsaw and Spraying.
- Strong knowledge of plant care, growth cycles, and landscape maintenance techniques
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Excellent attention to detail and a strong work ethic
- Good physical fitness to perform manual tasks effectively
