About Us
CS Gardens is a fast-growing, high-end gardening and grounds maintenance company dedicated to delivering exceptional outdoor spaces and professional service. We take pride in offering quality workmanship, attention to detail, and a premium experience to our discerning clients. As we continue to expand, we’re looking for an experienced Estimator / Contract Manager to join our team and help drive our growth while maintaining the high standards our brand is known for.
About the Role
This is a key position within CS Gardens — responsible for accurately pricing works, managing contracts, overseeing operational teams, and ensuring the profitability and quality of each project.
You’ll be the bridge between clients, our operations team, and the Managing Director. You’ll attend client meetings, assess sites, prepare quotations, and manage the delivery of works to ensure they’re completed efficiently, profitably, and to the high standard expected by our clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct site visits, meet clients, and prepare accurate quotations for grounds maintenance, soft landscaping, and fencing projects (with some hard landscaping).
- Assess project requirements, materials, and labour to create detailed and competitive pricing proposals.
- Manage and oversee ongoing contracts — ensuring teams deliver on time, within budget, and to specification.
- Liaise closely with the Managing Director for pricing approval and strategic direction.
- Supervise and support teams of operatives to ensure productivity, quality, and safety on-site.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships through excellent communication and professionalism.
- Identify opportunities for upselling and additional services, supporting the company’s growth and profitability.
- Monitor project performance, margins, and client satisfaction, implementing improvements where necessary.
- Represent the CS Gardens brand with professionalism, enthusiasm, and attention to detail.
Requirements
- Extensive experience in gardening, grounds maintenance, and landscaping (both soft and light hard landscaping).
- Strong understanding of time, labour, and cost estimation — able to accurately price jobs and ensure profitability.
- Proven experience in contract management, scheduling, and staff supervision.
- Experience in fencing projects is highly desirable; some experience with patios or similar works beneficial.
- Excellent client-facing and communication skills — confident in presenting, selling, and closing work.
- A proactive, organised, and commercially minded individual who takes ownership of their work.
- Full UK driving licence.
What We Offer
- Competitive salary (commensurate with experience).
- Company vehicle.
- Opportunity to play a key role in a growing business with strong long-term prospects.
- Autonomy and trust to manage your own workload and influence company direction.
- Supportive, forward-thinking management team that values quality and professionalism.
- The chance to work on high-end projects and build long-lasting client relationships.
