Gardener
We are looking for someone to plan and design the gardens at a family residence in Flushing, Cornwall; working in conjunction with the Chairman and the gardener to provide proactive maintenance and improvements; to include landscaping; planting schemes and bespoke gardening.
Salary: £30 per hour DOE.
Hours: 8 hours per week.
Key Duties for this role are:
- You will be responsible for the upkeep and improvement of the grounds and gardens of the family residence in Flushing.
- Responsible for providing long-lasting solutions to the Chairman.
- Daily/weekly/monthly checks on the planting, grass, weeds etc. Working in conjunction with the current gardener to ensure routine tasks are carried out.
- Using a variety of tools and machinery, with appropriate qualifications, to perform your tasks.
- Providing a full professional garden maintenance service to create and maintain beautiful gardens.
- Able to provide garden design ideas to include garden features to the Chairman to lead to improvements of the gardens.
- Being able to undertake or bring in contractors for groundworks and plant hire.
- Weekly meeting with the Chairman to share your ideas and strategy.
Additional Duties
- To be receptive to completing tasks which may fall outside of your role or remit with a positive attitude.
- Being open and honest in all communication.
- Able to keep business and person matters of the Healeys confidential.
- Any other activity/task as and when requested by the Directors.
Experience
- Gardening
- In-depth knowledge of garden maintenance and improvement
- Excellent knowledge of Botany
- Self-employed (preferred)

- Gardening and landscaping background
- Able to knapsack spray weed killer
- Physical strength and stamina to meet the demands of the role
- Good at practical work and using tools
- Good at problem solving and fault finding
- Good communication skills
- Excellent time management skills
- Understand safe working practices
