Salary: £30,000–£35,000 (depending on experience)

Hours: Seasonalised (with weekend work during the polo season)

Founded in 1955 by HRH The Duke of Edinburgh, Guards Polo Club is one of the most prestigious and historic polo clubs in the world. With over 1,000 members and more than 500 matches played each season, the club is home to some of the sport's most celebrated fixtures including the world-famous Cartier Queen's Cup.
Set within 130 acres of immaculate parkland, the club boasts exceptional playing surfaces and facilities.
This is a rare opportunity to contribute to the maintenance of a venue renowned for its quality, tradition, and sporting excellence.
The Role:
As a Grounds Person, you'll play an essential role in preparing, maintaining, and presenting the club's polo grounds and training areas to the highest professional standards. Working as part of a small and skilled team, you'll help ensure every surface is in peak condition throughout the season.
Key responsibilities include:
- Mowing, rolling, divotting, marking out, and irrigation duties across polo grounds
- Preparing and repairing pitches before, during, and after matches
- Pre-season, Mid-Season and End of Season renovations
- Operating and maintaining turf care machinery and equipment
- Supporting the set-up and breakdown of events and tournaments
- Collaborating with the Grounds Manager and wider team to deliver world-class results
About You:
- Experience in sports turf, greenkeeping, or grounds maintenance preferred
- Use of large tractors and implements such as Tri-Max Mowers, Verti-drains, Seeders, Topdressing Spreaders
- Experience with GPS Machinery would be beneficial
- Spraying and machinery operation qualifications (e.g. PA1/PA6, large tractor or mower experience) would be advantageous but are not essential. Full training can be provided for the right candidates.
- Passion for outdoor work and attention to detail
- Strong teamwork, reliability, and a positive, proactive attitude
- Willingness and Flexibility to work long hours and weekends during the polo season
