Due to their continued expansion, they are seeking a dedicated and proactive Design Lead to join their team.
About Our Client:
Our client is a globally recognised leader in sports surface and environmental solutions, with a rich history spanning over 95 years. They have been involved in prestigious projects, including the 2012 London Olympics and numerous FIFA World Cups. Their team comprises specialist consultants, designers, and technicians committed to delivering high-quality facilities.
About the Role:
As a Design Lead, you will spearhead the design and delivery of cutting-edge sports surface and field-of-play infrastructure projects. You will manage multidisciplinary design projects, ensuring technical excellence, compliance, and innovation from concept through to construction.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead the design process for major sports surface and infrastructure projects.
• Manage design delivery across all RIBA stages, ensuring alignment with technical standards.
• Develop and maintain project design intent, coordinating between various disciplines.
• Review and approve design documentation, ensuring accuracy and quality.
• Oversee resource planning and mentor design staff to achieve project goals.
• Act as the primary design interface with clients, architects, engineers, and contractors.
Requirements:
Essential:
• Proven experience in design and delivery of sports facilities, stadiums, or landscape engineering projects.
• Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and Civil 3D.
• Strong understanding of surface systems, substructure engineering, and field-of-play technologies.
• Excellent leadership, mentoring, and communication skills.
• Client-focused with commercial awareness and attention to quality.
Desirable:
• Professional accreditation (e.g., Chartered Engineer, Architect, or equivalent).
• Experience with BIM workflows and federated design environments.
• Familiarity with international sporting standards and performance testing criteria.
