Job Title: Grounds Maintenance Operative- (Tractor Driver)
Reporting to: Contract Supervisor/Contract Manager
Purpose of the Role: To provide grass cutting (ride on and pedestrian), strimming, shrub and border maintenance, hedge cutting, litter picking and a full range of horticultural work as required by the contracted works.
Duties
Main Task Activities
- Grass cutting utilising tractor & tow behind grass cutting equipment
- Sports renovation works utalising tractor equipment such as spiking, rolling & seeding
- A full range of horticultural work as required by the contracted works.
Responsibilities
- Ensure all tasks completed are to specification required and finished to a high standard.
- To ensure you are in possession and wear the correct uniform & PPE at all times.
- To ensure that the vehicles and machinery (including mobile telephones) you are using are in good working order and are being properly used.
- Undertake regular maintenance checks of tractor & machinery to ensure that it safe, fit for purpose & record using digital app.
- Attend and participate in any requested Toolbox Talks & training courses.
- Report and return any broken machinery to your line manager.
- Ensure you record work completed. This includes using systems advised by the company and will include digital working systems.
- Communicate regularly with your Line Manager.
- Complete any required reports such as maps, time sheets, job sheets.
- Notify your line manager of any Health and Safety issues, observations and all accidents in accordance with company procedure.
- Be prepared to work hours necessary to meet our contractual obligation.
- Ensure all communication with colleagues, clients and members of the public is courteous and professional and in line with JOC’s core standards.
Person Specification
- The ability to be able to work independently but also as part of a wider team.
- Reliable, energetic and enthusiastic with a determined, flexible and "can-do" attitude.
- Good eye for detail.
- A full driving licence.
- Previous experience of operating tractors & sports equipment machinery
- Previous experience within Grounds Maintenance or similar activity
- Level 2 Horticultural qualification
- PA1/PA6 qualification.
- LANTRA certification in Tractor & or machinery

Pay: Up to £13.70 per hour
