The role:
We are looking for a motivated and experienced Tree Surgeon / Arborist & Gardener to join our team in a mixed role. This position combines professional tree surgery and tree survey work with high-quality gardening and grounds maintenance. The successful candidate must be competent in both arboriculture and horticulture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carrying out all aspects of tree surgery, including pruning, felling, dismantling, and stump work
- Completing tree surveys, inspections, and basic reports (BS5837 knowledge preferred)
- Assessing tree health, defects, and risks, providing professional recommendations
- Undertaking a wide range of gardening duties, including planting, pruning, lawn care, hedge cutting, and general grounds maintenance
- Safe operation of chainsaws, machinery, and spraying equipment
- Applying pesticides and herbicides in accordance with legislation (PA1 & PA6)
- Ensuring all work is completed to a high standard and in line with health & safety requirements
- Liaising professionally with clients and colleagues
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Tree Surgeon / Arborist
- Demonstrable experience in tree surveys
- Strong gardening / horticultural experience
- PA1 & PA6 certificates (essential)
- Relevant arboricultural qualifications (NPTC / LANTRA)
- Good knowledge of tree biology, pests, diseases, and risk assessment
- Full UK driving licence
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
