The members actively contribute to the Club’s community, atmosphere, heritage and culture.The DepartmentThe Gardens Team are part of the Estates Team and are made up of 10 professional Gardeners & Horticulturalists, 2 Trainee Gardeners & 1 Horticultural Student. The team is proud to care for the estate and all its horticultural requirements including a 2-acre lake, woodland, herbaceous and rose borders, exotic borders, riverbank and formal spaces. It is through the efforts of the Gardens Team that the Club’s members are rewarded year-on-year with award winning spaces in which to relax and enjoy an English country garden in the heart of the city.Job SpecificsThe Seasonal Gardener role is predominantly to support the permanent team in a wide range of duties, including but not limited to mulching, bed clearance, watering, soil cultivation, hedge cutting and pruning, planting and light hard landscaping.This is a fixed term role. Candidates must be available from March through to the end of November.Our Ideal CandidateCandidates will embody our Club values; excellence, responsibility, and courtesy.The ideal candidates will be enthusiastic, reliable, hard-working and enjoy working outdoors in all weather conditions. The successful candidate will be a team player but also able to work with minimal supervision. Previous professional or volunteer gardening experience is desirable, but not essential as appropriate training will be provided.Working Hours: 39-hour week, Monday to Friday, as well as a 1-in-3 weekend rota.
