An opportunity has arisen for an independent, experienced gardener to manage a private 2-acre garden just outside Heathfield, East Sussex.
The successful applicant must be self-motivated, with the ability to work unsupervised and happy to work alone. You will have a minimum of 5 years’ previous gardening experience, an excellent knowledge of plants, experience of handling garden machinery, be an animal lover and physically fit. You will be responsible for the overall maintenance of the garden, as well as the drives, paths, patios and surrounding areas.
Duties will include:
· Care and upkeep of flowers, plants, and vegetable beds, including creating planting schemes and schedules.
· Pruning of trees, shrubs and hedges.
· Maintaining grounds, keeping clear of leaves and debris.
· Mowing/strimming of lawns.
· Occasional help with pet farm animals.
· Any other general outdoor maintenance tasks and assistance as required.
40 hours per week – Monday to Friday: 8am to 4pm.
20 days’ holiday per annum + public holidays.
Salary up to £40k depending on experience.
