Grounds Maintenance Operative
Location: Hepworth, Suffolk (working across Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridgeshire)
Salary: £26,000 to £29,000 per year
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm
Top Garden Services is a family-run grounds maintenance and tree surgery company with over 20 years of experience. Based in Hepworth, Suffolk, we manage a wide range of parish, town council, commercial and domestic contracts across East Anglia. Due to continued growth ahead of the new season, we are expanding our operational team.
About the Role
You will work alongside a Team Leader to deliver high-quality grounds maintenance across a variety of public and private sites. The role involves year-round outdoor work and includes:
- Grass cutting
- Hedge and shrub maintenance
- Strimming and edging
- Soft landscaping tasks
- Leaf clearance and seasonal tidy work
- Weed control
- Supporting tree work operations where required
- General site upkeep to professional standards
All work must be completed safely, efficiently and in line with established grounds maintenance and arboricultural best practice.

About You

- Professional when working on public-facing sites such as parish councils and commercial properties
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
- Physically fit and able to carry out manual tasks
- Able to take pride in achieving high-quality results
- A team player who maintains a respectful and positive working environment
Requirements
- Full UK driving licence (essential due to rural site travel)
- Previous experience in grounds maintenance (preferred)
- Chainsaw tickets and spraying qualifications are an advantage but not essential
- Willingness to learn; full training provided for the right candidate
- Strong timekeeping, reliability and attention to detail
