Job OverviewWe are a leading horticultural wholesaler seeking a dynamic and experienced Area Sales Manager to lead our sales efforts across the West Midlands and South Wales. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining strong client relationships, driving revenue growth and maximising margin. We would prefer a candidate with previous experience in the horticultural industry, BASIS or FACTS qualifications would be beneficial or willingness to undergo training for these. ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement regional sales strategies aligned with company objectives to maximise growth opportunities.Identify, target, and acquire new clients through proactive outreach and relationship-building activities.Manage existing client accounts, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and retention.Analyse market trends, customer needs, and competitor activities to inform sales approaches and identify new business prospects.Collaborate closely with marketing other internal teams to ensure customer requirements are met effectively.Work with our suppliers in promoting new and upcoming products.Conduct presentations and negotiations with prospective clients.Attend industry events, trade shows and networking functions to promote BHGS.QualificationsProven experience in B2B sales, preferably within the horticultural sector.Strong analysis skills with the ability to interpret data and market insights to inform strategic decisions.Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.Organised with strong planning skills to manage multiple accounts effectively.
