We are looking for a groundsperson to join the trials team at our seven-hectare sports turf research site.
This is a turf role with a difference, preparing turf for research, trials and innovation. Sometimes that means producing high-quality turf. Sometimes it means stressing it, challenging it… and even killing it (and getting thanked for it).
For someone keen to pursue a role with a focus on a positive work/life balance, there are no golfers or match fixtures to work around, and minimal requirement for weekend working.
What we offer
- Varied turf maintenance role at our seven-hectare research site
- Working pattern Monday to Friday, 8.15am - 4.00pm
- Minimal weekend working
- Ongoing investment in machinery fleet, irrigation and site infrastructure
- Commitment to training and personal development
- Long-term career opportunities in the sports surface industry with world-leading brand
The role
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Sports turf maintenance across our research plots and trial areas
- Operating machinery for mowing, renovation and general grounds work
- Assisting with irrigation and site upkeep
- Working to clear instructions and follow trial protocols
- Supporting the preparation and maintenance of trial and demonstration areas
This is a hands-on grounds management role first and foremost, however the diverse nature of the Group means there are often opportunities to develop into the wider business.
What we’re looking for
We are looking for someone with the right attitude and mindset:
- Interest in sports turf and turf maintenance
- Willingness to learn and develop
- Able to follow instructions and protocols accurately
- Curious about how data and research improve turf management
- Positive, reliable and a good team player
Experience in turf maintenance or grounds work is desirable but not essential and we welcome applications from all experience levels.
Salary and development
- Competitive salary depending on experience
- Wide salary range to reflect different experience levels
- Training and qualifications supported
- Clear development pathway
