We are seeking a dedicated Grounds Maintenance Operative to join our team. This role involves maintaining and enhancing outdoor spaces through a variety of landscaping and horticultural tasks. Responsibilities
- Conduct landscape maintenance including mowing, pruning, planting, and fertilising to ensure healthy growth and visual appeal.
- Operate power tools such as trimmers, lawnmowers, hedge cutters, and other gardening equipment safely and efficiently.
- Use hand tools for planting, digging, weeding, and general grounds upkeep.
- Assist with construction or installation projects involving fencing, decking, or other outdoor structures.
- Operate machinery such as excavators for larger landscaping tasks or site clearing.
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety standards are met.
- Monitor grounds for safety hazards and report or rectify issues promptly.
- Support team members in specialised horticultural activities to promote healthy plant growth.
Requirements
- Experience in landscape maintenance, gardening, or horticulture is highly desirable.
- Mechanical knowledge with the ability to operate power tools and machinery safely.
- Familiarity with hand tools used in gardening and construction tasks.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions while maintaining high standards of safety and quality.
- Basic understanding of construction techniques related to outdoor projects is preferred.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
- A valid driver’s licence is required.
- A proactive attitude with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of grounds care.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £28,000.00-£32,250.00 per year
