and plant watering and pesticide application

- Working for both private residents as well as some of the leading national companies, by not doing just one thing, we provide an excellent opportunity for those wanting to learn a variety of skills as well as those who are already working in the industry and don’t want to be doing the same thing day after day!
- Interested in one aspect of what we do more than another? Let us know at interview as although everyone gets stuck in with a variety of works, when individuals have a particular interest, we try where ever possible for those individuals to get involved with that type of work whenever we can.
Winter working
- Manage your own time and help keep Somerset running!
- During the winter period, landscape operations take place Monday – Friday 7:15am – 4:15pm unless a cold weather alert is issued for sites which we service.
- When an alert is received, operatives will take one of our specialist vehicles to apply an anti-icing products to private/commercial premises including critical infrastructure such as schools and hospitals to reduce the risk of accident and injury and help keep Somerset running!
- The majority of sites are serviced by driving around spreading anti-icing product but don’t worry, it’s not all driving as sites often need some hand spreading to be done as well so you get to stretch your legs!
- Sites can generally be serviced between 6pm and 6am which allows you to manage your own time. Don’t want to miss the football, no problem, watch the game then service the sites. Want to be back in bed as early as quickly as you can, be at the first set ready for 6pm and be back in bed as early as possible.
- Winter attracts added benefits! All operatives are paid for a minimum of eight hours so if all of the sites are completed quicker, then there’s extra pay to be gained. Regardless of how long you are out, a nightly gritting bonus is also paid and if you service more than a set number of sites, additional bonus’s are also available; this gives a great opportunity to make some extra money.
