About the Role:
As a Grounds Person, you will be responsible for maintaining the school's grounds to the highest standards. You will be setting up for sports fixtures, using various equipment, and ensuring that all areas are well-kept and presentable. Your role will be pivotal in providing a safe and aesthetically pleasing environment for students and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
• Set up sports fixtures to a high standard and on schedule.
• Maintain grounds using hand-held, ride-on, and pedestrian-powered equipment.
• Prepare and maintain sports fields, including soccer pitches and cricket wickets.
• Assist with tree, hedge, and path maintenance, including snow clearance and leaf collection.
• Monitor and report the condition of trees and turf health issues.
• Ensure grounds are watered and kept free from litter.
Requirements:
Essential -
• Proven experience in grounds maintenance.
• Level 2 Groundsman qualification or equivalent.
• Reliable, physically fit, and willing to work in all weather conditions.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent time management and organisational skills.
• Full clean UK driving licence.
Desirable -
• Experience maintaining high-standard cricket wickets.
• Experience in a similar educational environment.
• Knowledge of health and safety guidelines.
