Job Overview
We are seeking dedicated Gardener / Grounds Maintenance Operatives to join our team. This role involves maintaining and enhancing outdoor spaces, ensuring they are safe, attractive, and well-kept. Duties
- Mowing lawns, trimming hedges, and pruning plants using hand tools and power tools
- Maintaining flower beds, borders, and shrubbery to ensure healthy growth and visual appeal
- Operating irrigation systems to ensure proper watering schedules are maintained
- Installing new plants, trees, and shrubs as required
- Performing general landscape maintenance tasks such as raking leaves, clearing debris, and weed control
- Assisting with seasonal planting and soil preparation
- Ensuring all equipment is maintained in good working order and used safely at all times
- Supporting the team in implementing environmental sustainability practices within the grounds
Requirements
- Prior experience in gardening, horticulture or landscape maintenance is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and irrigation systems
- Knowledge of plant growth cycles and horticultural best practices
- RHS/Horticultural Qualifications
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Good organisational skills with an eye for detail
- Physical fitness to perform manual tasks including lifting, digging, and standing for extended periods
- A responsible attitude towards safety and equipment handling
- A valid driving licence would be advantageous but is not mandatory
