Are you a skilled Groundsperson with a passion for maintaining top-tier sports pitches? Do you excel in using advanced technology and machinery to ensure the highest standards of turf quality? Our client, a leading sports turf company with a strong presence in Eastern Europe, Turkey, Georgia, and Azerbaijan, is looking for dedicated Groundspeople to join their team in Sofia, Bulgaria. This role offers the chance to work on a significant new stadium development and a training ground pitch, with the potential for long-term employment across multiple regional projects.

About the Role:
As a Groundsperson, you will be responsible for maintaining the stadium pitch and training ground pitch, utilising new technologies like C-heat and UV lights, germination sheets, and advanced machinery. You will manage your schedule based on game days and pitch conditions, ensuring optimal turf health and performance.
Key Responsibilities:
• Maintain the stadium pitch and training ground pitch to the highest standards.
• Operate and manage new technologies, including C-heat, UV lights, and germination sheets.
• Coordinate with other grounds staff for efficient site management and material transport.
• Monitor and address grass diseases related to climate conditions.
• Ensure proper use and maintenance of fluid-based heating systems.
• Manage your schedule based on game days and pitch needs.
Requirements:
Essential -
• Proven experience in sports turf management, ideally with hybrid pitches in a stadium setting.
• Proficiency with fluid-based heating systems and advanced turf machinery.
• Strong understanding of grass diseases and climate impact.
• Ability to work independently and manage your schedule effectively.
• Excellent coordination and teamwork skills.
Desirable -
• Experience with fescue and low-volume grass.
• Familiarity with the sports turf industry in Eastern Europe.
• Previous experience in a similar climate.
