Job Responsibilities:
1. You will be required to work supervised and unsupervised on specific projects and/or properties providing gardening techniques such as:
Lawn mowing
- Strimming lawns and edges, defining lawn edges
- Aeration
- Top dressing
- Hedge cutting
- Hedge height reduction
- Mechanical weed control
- Border maintenance
- Hard surface operations
- Other general gardening operations including working with plant machinery and powered tools.
- Developing the projects and/or properties you will be working on by proactively seeking ways to enhance their appearance.
- Developing the speed required to complete onsite tasks within the allocated time frames
- Ensuring that day to day operations of the business run smoothly. This includes:
- Complete entries into day diaries on a daily basis
- Complete mileage logs on a weekly basis
- Identify refuelling needs
- Clean all tools used at the end of each day
- Clean your van on a weekly basis
- Encourage company communications
- Any other tasks as necessary to support the work of the company and raise the profile of Bennett Landscapes.
Key tasks:
The Landscaper (Landscape Technician) will work out of the Company’s base unit in Witton, Birmingham and will be required to work throughout the Midlands region briefly comprising of areas; Stoke, Birmingham and Northampton. The Landscaper (Landscape Technician) will be required to work as part of a small team and must be prepared to be flexible with respect to working hours and working practices. The Landscaper (Landscape Technician) will be required to work mainly under the supervision of a Team Leader, but must also be capable of working unsupervised on specific projects and/or properties developing their own gardening techniques and horticultural skills so as to proactively enhance the appearance of the projects and/or properties they will be working on.
Many types of property the Landscaper (Landscape Technician) will be required to work at will be clients Head Offices or buildings of significance, thus all operatives are required to ensure that the level of skill shown on the job is of the highest quality.
On the job time management is essential to all the properties under a maintenance programme at Bennett Landscapes and the Landscaper (Landscape Technician) will be required to develop the necessary techniques.
Paper work is also required to be completed as part of daily tasks, therefore the Landscaper (Landscape Technician) must be confident in using and have a good level of understanding of risk assessments, time sheets and mileage logs.
