Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Ground Worker to join our team, responsible for supporting various landscaping, construction, and maintenance projects. The successful candidate will assist in the upkeep and development of outdoor spaces, ensuring safety and quality standards are met. Duties
- Assist with landscape maintenance tasks including planting, pruning, and lawn care
- Operate hand tools such as spades, rakes, and shovels to prepare sites for planting or construction
- Support the use of power tools and machinery including excavators and irrigation systems
- Help with the installation, repair, and maintenance of irrigation systems and other horticultural equipment
- Assist in the setup and breakdown of construction sites, ensuring safety protocols are followed
- Carry out general gardening duties such as soil preparation, mulching, and fertilising
- Support with site clearance, debris removal, and organisation of materials
- Perform routine inspections of equipment and report any maintenance needs
Qualifications
- Previous experience in landscape maintenance, gardening or horticulture is desirable but not essential
- Mechanical knowledge or experience operating power tools and machinery such as excavators is advantageous
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Basic understanding of construction or gardening principles preferred
- Good physical fitness with the ability to lift heavy objects and perform manual labour safely
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and follow instructions diligently
