Under direct supervision, the groundskeeper performs unskilled to semi-skilled work to properly maintain the community grounds and equipment used to keep a manicured appearance. Work involves operating medium to light machinery and using hand tools to prune trees, mow and edge lawns, remove debris, and maintain plantings. The Groundskeeper completes work within the scheduled time frame, according to the budget, and priorities set by the supervisor.
Shift:
Monday- Friday, 7:00AM-3:00PM
Pay: $18-$20/DOE
To be successful in the role, you would have:
- 2-5 years of commercial landscaping experience
- Landscaping such as planting and mowing grass, planting and trimming hedges and shrubbery, pruning trees, cutting weeds, maintaining flower beds, raking leaves, mulching using tractors, power lawn mowers, string trimmers, and various hand tools;
- Spray insecticide or herbicides as needed, and apply fertilizer as needed
- Makes regular inspections of assigned areas daily for cleanliness; removes limbs, rakes leaves, debris, litter, and other hazards including those created by environmental conditions ensuring that grounds are properly maintained; cleans carports as necessary
- Monitors, maintains, and repairs irrigation system; operates, and maintains community fountains
- Operate landscaping equipment and ensure that equipment is properly maintained and reports malfunction or repair needs
