Job Summary
This permanent, full time role will have a primary focus of groundskeeper (curator) for a cricket pitch which is currently undergoing construction, but will comprise of all aspects of estate ground maintenance on a large private estate near Wargrave on Thames.
You will be part of an expanding team reporting directly to the head of ground maintenance.
Responsibilities and Duties
Duties to include all aspects of grounds maintenance and upkeep.
The preparation and upkeep of the cricket pitch - Preparing the pitch for matches, mowing and rolling, line marking : Initial setting out and weekly over marking, scarifying, autumn renovation and ensuring pitches are protected from inclement weather. Irrigation system knowledge
Operating machinery and tractor mowing equipment, strimming, hedge cutting and spraying.
Qualifications and Skills
The ideal candidate must possess the following skills:
Cricket grounds maintenance qualification and significant experience in the role.
Experience in general grounds maintenance and various ride on compact tractors and mowers.
Excellent interpersonal skills and strong work ethic. Flexible attitude. Occasional weekend work may be required due to the cricket calendar.
The candidate must hold a valid full UK drivers licence and live within a commutable distance, the estate is semi-rural and has no nearby public transport links. This is a live out position.
NPTC PA1 & PA2, PA6a spraying certificates are essential.
