Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Grounds Maintenance Worker to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing the appearance and safety of outdoor spaces across various sites. Duties
- Perform routine landscape maintenance including mowing, trimming, pruning, and planting.
- Operate power tools such as lawnmowers, hedge trimmers, and blowers to ensure efficient grounds care.
- Use hand tools for planting, digging, and general maintenance tasks.
- Maintain irrigation systems to ensure proper watering of plants and lawns.
- Assist with construction or repair projects involving outdoor structures or pathways.
- Operate machinery such as excavators when required for larger landscaping projects.
- Conduct regular inspections of grounds to identify areas needing attention or repair.
- Ensure all work areas are kept safe, clean, and organised in compliance with health and safety standards.
Experience
- Previous experience in landscape maintenance, gardening, or horticulture is advantageous but not essential.
- Familiarity with the use of hand tools and power tools used in groundskeeping tasks.
- Experience working with excavation equipment such as excavators is a plus but not essential.
- Knowledge of construction or outdoor maintenance projects will be beneficial.
- A proactive attitude towards maintenance tasks and a keen eye for detail are essential qualities for success in this role.
