Do you excel in leading multidisciplinary teams and delivering high-quality engineering solutions? Our client is seeking a dedicated and proactive Design Lead to join their expanding team.
About Our Client:
Our client is a renowned organisation specialising in sports infrastructure and Field of Play design. With a growing international portfolio, they are committed to delivering innovative and technically robust engineering solutions for major sports projects.
About the Role:
As a Design Lead, you will be responsible for leading and coordinating the technical delivery of major sports infrastructure and Field of Play projects both in the UK and internationally. You will work closely with specialist consultants, designers, and BIM teams to translate performance requirements into coordinated, buildable engineering solutions.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
• Lead the multidisciplinary design and coordination of stadium, training facility, and sports infrastructure projects.
• Coordinate Field of Play systems including drainage, irrigation, water infrastructure, undersoil heating, and ventilation.
• Develop and review drawings, BIM models, engineering details, and technical documentation.
• Prepare and coordinate performance specifications, bills of quantities, and technical submissions.
• Review technical calculations, contractor submissions, and shop drawings during design and construction.
• Ensure the complete design package is coordinated, technically robust, and buildable.
Skills and Experience:
Essential:
• Extensive experience in an engineering design environment, ideally in civil, mechanical, MEP, or infrastructure.
• Strong engineering design and multidisciplinary coordination experience.
• Experience working within BIM-led project environments.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit; Civil 3D or Navisworks experience is advantageous.
• Strong communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills.
• Confidence working directly with clients, architects, engineers, and contractors.
Desirable:
• Experience preparing performance specifications, bills of quantities, and technical/client presentations.
• Professional accreditation or progress towards Chartered/Incorporated Engineer status.
• Previous experience in sports-surface or Field of Play design.
