About the Role:
As a Civils/SuDS Engineer, you will be instrumental in the design and implementation of sustainable urban drainage systems (SuDS). You will conduct Flood Risk Assessments (FRAs) and develop detailed designs for various projects. This role is based in one of the offices in Bingley, Warrington, or Nottingham, with occasional site visits.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead the design, specification, and implementation of SuDS for residential, commercial, and infrastructure developments.
• Conduct and review FRAs in compliance with UK legislation and planning policy.
• Develop and review detailed drainage designs using software such as MicroDrainage, Civil 3D, InfoDrainage, and Site3D.
• Manage and mentor junior engineers, ensuring high-quality design work.
• Prepare technical reports, design documents, and project proposals.
• Ensure designs adhere to industry best practices, national standards, and company quality assurance procedures.
Skills and Experience:
Essential:
• Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or a related subject.
• Proven experience in SuDS design, flood risk management, and drainage design.
• Chartered or working towards Chartered status (e.g., ICE, CIWEM).
• Proficient in drainage design software (e.g., MicroDrainage, Civil 3D, InfoDrainage, FLOW, or Site3D).
• Strong project management skills and experience managing multiple projects.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Desirable:
• Experience with Tuflow, ICM, or another 1D/2D hydraulic modelling package.
• Experience preparing section agreements (S38, S104, S185, S278).
• Highway Design (2D/3D) and Geotechnical Experience.
