Are you a dynamic and confident leader ready to develop our frontline environmental services?
This is a key operational role within our Public Realm and Sustainability Service, responsible for the effective delivery of a wide range of services including street cleansing, grounds maintenance, tree management, pest control, fly-tip clearance, and public convenience cleaning. You will manage a large team of staff and contractors, oversee budgets, and ensure services are delivered efficiently, safely, and in line with our environmental and corporate priorities.
This is a varied and rewarding role where no two days are the same. You will play a vital part in shaping the public realm across the district, supporting wider council initiatives, and responding to the challenges of extreme weather and emergency situations.
About you
You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills together with proven substantial experience in managing and motivating teams and managing performance.
You will have a strong understanding of health and safety, financial management, and be comfortable working with internal and external stakeholders, including Members, suppliers, and community groups.
You will hold an IOSH Managing Safely qualification and HND or equivalent in a relevant discipline
