Chappell Enterprises UK is recruiting on behalf of our client, a respected commercial landscaping specialist, for a dedicated and proactive Team Leader / Grounds Maintenance Supervisor to join their team at Green Park, Reading.
About Our Client:
Our client is renowned for their quality, professionalism, and sustainable horticultural practices. They have recently secured a prestigious contract to maintain Green Park, a 195-acre award-winning estate that is home to over 9,000 professionals and some of the UK's most recognisable employers.
About the Role:
As the Team Leader / Grounds Maintenance Supervisor, you will coordinate a small team of gardeners and oversee the day-to-day maintenance of Green Park's diverse green spaces. Your role will involve leading, supporting, and motivating your team to ensure the estate is maintained to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities:
• Leading, supporting, and motivating a small grounds team.
• Planning daily and weekly schedules to meet contract standards.
• Ensuring the highest presentation of lawns, beds, shrubs, hedges, and trees.
• Monitoring quality, safety, and compliance with site specifications.
• Carrying out hands-on horticultural work where required.
• Reporting progress, issues, and requirements to management.
• Supporting seasonal projects, planting schemes, and biodiversity initiatives.
Requirements:
Essential:
• Proven experience in grounds maintenance or horticulture.
• Prior experience supervising or mentoring staff (team leader, chargehand, or acting supervisor level).
• Strong organisational skills and an eye for detail.
• Confidence using horticultural machinery and equipment.
• A proactive, approachable, and safety-focused mindset.
• A full UK driving licence.
Desirable:
• Experience with biodiversity initiatives.
• Knowledge of sustainable horticultural practices.
• Familiarity with high-profile site maintenance.
