Position: Sports Turf Renovation Team Leader / Foreman
Location: South Wales (projects across Wales & England)
Salary: £17–£20 per hour (equivalent to £42,500–£50,000 per year, based on approximately 2,500 hours annually)
Hours: Full-time contracting position

Chappell Enterprises UK is recruiting on behalf of our client, a well-established company providing sports turf renovation services. Due to continued growth, they are seeking a dedicated and proactive Sports Turf Renovation Team Leader / Foreman to join their team.
About Our Client:
Our client is one of the UK's most respected sports turf contractors, with a proud history spanning several decades. They specialise in the renovation, construction, and maintenance of natural turf sports surfaces, working with a wide range of clients — from grassroots clubs to elite-level football and rugby teams across Wales and England.
About the Role:
As a Sports Turf Renovation Team Leader / Foreman, you will oversee on-site operations for sports turf renovation projects. This is a hands-on position leading a small team of operatives working on natural turf sports surfaces across Wales and England. You will be responsible for coordinating daily site activities, ensuring high standards of quality, safety, and efficiency are maintained at all times.
Key Responsibilities:

Leading a team of operatives on turf renovation and maintenance project

Operating and overseeing use of machinery, including tractors, Koro machines, seeders, and topdressers

Supervising renovation processes, such as Koroing, topdressing, overseeding, and aeration

Planning and coordinating daily tasks to meet project schedules and quality standards

Carrying out quality checks to ensure consistent standards across all work completed

Maintaining a safe working environment, following all site health & safety requirements
Requirements:
Essential -

Proven experience leading teams within turf renovation, sports turf, or grounds maintenance

Strong practical skills and the ability to operate a variety of turf/agricultural machinery

Good communication and organisational skills

Professional approach and positive attitude

Willingness to travel and stay away when required

Full UK driving licence
Desirable -

Tractor qualifications such as CPCS or NPORS

Spraying certificates (PA1/PA6) or relevant turf industry qualifications
